When I travel today, I’m seeking out connections that I know will serve my clients more sensory-laden experiences. I want everything you taste, touch, hear, smell, and see to be as vibrant and vivid as possible.
My goal at The Luxury Route is to give you experiences that enliven your senses. Because those are the travel moments that stay with you for life.
For me, travel has been a means of exploring beyond my boundaries. Without immersive travel, I’d never be able to hear the tremor of mournful and mysterious Fado music wafting through the midnight air, like I did in Lisbon. Or I’d never round a corner and spy a moose and her calf resting in a forest clearing, like I did at a dude ranch in Colorado.

Barbara works one-on-one with clients to craft once-in-a-lifetime trips to some of the most beautiful and unique destinations around the world. Before joining The Luxury Route, Barbara was in advertising and sales in New York City for two decades. Today, she spends her free time with her husband and three children—and they often travel internationally together (so far, Italy is a family favorite; Barbara has made 7 visits!). When she’s not designing immersive itineraries, you can find Barbara in her kitchen rolling out homemade pasta and sweet treats, or cheering on the NY Jets on Sundays.

Susannah works with TLR advisors to ensure client itineraries are always deftly organized. She often takes charge of booking concierge services for clients, such as dinner reservations, spa appointments, and transfers. Before working with The Luxury Route Team, Susannah was an ESL (English as a Second Language) educator who taught at her alma mater LSU and in Asia. When she’s not planning her next trip abroad (Bali and Greece have been favorites!), you can find Susannah at the local library with her adorable toddler, exploring all the diverse cuisines in the NYC area, and road tripping to the best hiking spots and wineries in New England.
